Hi friends! How are you all doing? It’s probably the time of year when shops are going to clear their racks of spring and summer goodies to make way for the winter essentials, so there is something to look forward to- early spring and summer shopping at half the price! What’s good about this practice is that you can save hard-earned money, and get the essentials that you need. Does it really matter if it was last season? I mean, as long as it is still functional, I think that’s the best deal you can get, and that is good value for your money.

So if you find yourself a little curious about the sale items that some shops will be having in your town, you can look fresh and blooming for next spring or summer with Grecian dresses. Now a thing about Grecian dresses, these styles have been around since the Ancient Greeks even, and the way they styled their gowns all reflected on their appreciation and admiration of the human body. As early as then, their fashion was clear- it was to accentuate the natural curves and cuts of the body, so you can see the draping styles were done dramatically.

Over the years, some of the styles have been improved, and even the women of today have found it the right styles for their body types. It even governs some formal styles even up to today. But even if we are used to the lengthier fashion of long pleats and dramatic draping styles, there are shorter dresses that capture the romance of the first powerful civilizations.

Now one of the notable stylings done during the time is the matching of long, flowy fabric with metallics. The classic combination which is still in use today and lends a dramatic touch is the white and gold matching. More modern stylings have included diamonds, studs and crystals and other creative combinations.

Because access to more fabric and jewelry is made simpler and faster these days, any woman can dress up for the right occasion feeling like a Greek goddess or princess. Even just for everyday wear, the simplicity and drama of a flowy chifon top can be traced back to the ancient Greeks, wouldn’t you agree?

Hi! How have you been all doing? Lately here at Endless Wardrobe we have been inspired by skirts, and to be specific, it’s all about the midi high skirts. There is something just so fun and reminiscent about them and they come in a variety of prints and styles! Even if the rage these days is all about skater skirts, the skater styles, we believe, is best left for summer and spring. In fall and winter, the appropriate length and charming style of the midi high skirt is very appropriate.

We would say that the cut is very simple, and it could be one of the most versatile skirts to wear to match to any footwear too. It also comes in a flattering and conservative A style cut, which works well no matter if you are plump or a little skinny, it doesn’t really matter. Its impressive cut could give the illusion longer legs too.

You could choose if you like your midi high skirts plain straight, or with pleats. Wear it high waist, and finish off with a slim belt. Here is a suggestion though, you might want to see how it looks like if you match with a winter jacket, and you can see if you rock this style.

There is another thing about midi high skirts, lately designers have introduced the illusion midi skirt. It’s really more of a mini skirt but it has a sheer covering that follows the size of a midi skirt, that makes it quite stylish, and it could be worn to parties, where your outfit could be quite a conversation starter. If you pair it with the right top, you can easily put on a statement necklace and you are good to go.

You can’t help walking confidently and embracing the comfort of a midi high skirt. It’s fun to wear and there is nothing to worry about because the length is very appropriate for a lot of occasions. Perhaps the only trouble is trying to figure out which colour you have to get, or which print you absolutely must have!

Your imagination is the only limit to what you can do with the midi skirt, so why don’t you try it out soon?

Year in and year out, you have the same fall staples-coats, cardigans, tops, trousers, but if you find yourself getting tired of these, you can readily update these staples by giving them a more modern twist. Some are easy, you can do them yourself, and the others can be done with the help of accessories. Based on observations, women tend to tone down their fashion choices when fall swings in, but you do not necessarily have to do so.

The Gray Cardigan

The gray cardigan is already such a classic choice when it comes to office wear, and fall choices. If you feel that every other woman has this in her closet and you want to step up your game, you can easily get the help of faux jewels and add a cool touch to your gray cardi by gluing them on the fabric with durable glue, and your creativity can set you apart. From the boring gray cardi, you now have something worth showing off.

If you don’t want to bejewel your gray cardi, you can still wear it and still step up your style factor by matching it with a beret to the side, and statement necklaces in copper or gold.

Printed Dresses

From the printed dress of the same cuts, styles and lengths, you can turn them into eccentric extras. You can do so by preparing and layering bib necklaces, chandelier earrings, and match them with fishermen net leggings, keeping your coat to a solid, textured one. It screams party all underneath the coat, while keeping the hairstyle to a minimum. As for the prints, you can choose which of your paisleys, baroque and silk dresses needs the touch of your creativity. Even belts can make a good impact on the dress that you are wearing. Remember that although slim belts create a dainty effect if you have a cinched waist, bigger belts create illusion of a smaller waist.

Floral Sunnies

Even the sun does not hide during Fall. What better way for you to bring the same inspiration of summer and spring with the help of your ever reliable sunglasses but with a twist. Floral sunglasses are big right now and what is great about them is you can design them yourself. Simpy choose your style, if you want the sunglasses frames to be wrapped in fabric or if you want fabulous cabochons to be adorned at the top of the frames or on the sides, you can make them anytime.

Which of these ideas are you going to try our first? Share them with us in the comments section below!

So, what do you think fans? I see a lot of denim shirts in tinseltown, and it seems that more stylistas are raging over it, as well as expressing their individual style with the help of this ever so comfortable top. It seems that it is not just making a comeback, but the denim shirt intends to be a fall staple for some months. If you are absolutely clueless about what to wear with a denim shirt, now is the time for you to head on out with your experimenting! Today’s denim shirts are reinvented for a modern take and it’s never too late to mix and match. Now take out that denim shirt and see how creative you can be.

Denim + Stripes

If your denim shirt has full sleeves or short sleeves, you can layer with pinstripes of black, red and even navy. This one has not failed to impress and you still get the chance to wear stripes in a very casual mode. Layering this way shows off a really cute and practical side of you. Paired with interesting jeans and flats, it is your perfect weekend outfit.

Denim + Animal Prints

This combination is an interesting party-ready go-to. What is great about this combination is that you can dress it up or down and pair it with your favourite animal print and slip on some smart wedges, a simple belt and your handy clutch. If you feel like adding some punch, you can easily put on some wooden, native accessories for added style. It is one option that won’t look too overpowering, not to mention very, very stylish.

Denim + Pastels

One thing great about Fall is that you can wear pastels anytime of day and jump out from the classic browns and earth tones. Who says pastels can’t be an earth tone too? A lot of flowers are inspiration for these delicate pastel shades. Here is another classic favourite for women who can’t let go of the lovely pastels long after summer has gone. It’s very wearable if you fancy long skirts, whether straight or with pleats.

You can even layer your favourite denim shirt top over an interesting maxi dress and you can be a walking breeze of fresh air. Your style will show too.

Denim+ Sequins

Another party ready outfit combination is to wear your denim shirt top with a good contrasting sequin bottom such as a skirt or shorts. You can even transform if you wear it late in the afternoon and party with it late at night. This ensemble is great for huge celebrations and you can pair it with chunky bangles and bracelets or statement earrings.

If you have enjoyed that, here is a follow up post, this time not just on shoes but on fashion for the workplace. Are you ready? This post is all about Power Styling.

So what is power styling? It is sometimes referred to as power dressing, and there are many fashionable women and icons one can look up to when the field of power styling is to be discussed. There is really no hard and fast rule about power styling (we did the keyword search on Google before writing this post) but putting two and two together would mean, that power styling is all about selecting the right pieces to look presentable in corporate, diplomatic and authoritative meetings and events. When it comes to power styling, you can get so many inspiration from women in power and you can never go wrong.

When someone mentions women in power, there are just so many lovely women out there who have iconic tastes in fashion who simply just have flair and credentials such as Carla Bruni, Michelle Obama, Jackie Kennedy, Margaret Thatcher, the Duchess Kate Middleton, Sarah Palin and the list could go on and on.

Power styling is not all about just slipping on a blazer with the first trousers that you see in your wardrobe. If you want to make a good first impression and also command authority, you have to put a little more thought into what you wear. Here are some pointers to help you out.

Practice matching solid colors with bold colors

Interesting shoes and clutches or bags do not have to be overpowering

Accessories can add more personality to what you wear

Select the right shoes to wear (refer to our past post here)

Do some research on the right hair styles and be sure to keep your hair away from your eyes

Wear appropriate makeup, barely there makeup usually looks great

Jewel tones can look good on black and neutrals, but do not overdo it

Conflicting prints do not make a power styling nod

You can power style effectively no matter what size you are! Do not let anyone else tell you otherwise!

Too much skin (too deep a cleavage, too high a skirt) is a no-no

You can layer effectively with pinstripes, solids, and other types of fabric

Always dress for comfort, if you feel good in what you wear, it will also show

You can research among blogs and magazines and think of your favourite fashion icons to see how they do it.

The fit matters a lot, and you would want to have crisp clothes, not wrinkled ones that look fresh out of the dryer

A simple but well-tailored dress could be worn, it all depends on how you match it with the right shoes and accessories

Hopefully, you have learned important power styling tips and perhaps combine it with a little executive grooming along the way. You will soon be noticed as a someone who knows where he or she is headed. Take note, some of our pointers are also applicable for men.

Whether you are preparing for your job interview or the first few months of your regular job in the office, you can count on your performance to reflect how you do, and of course, your shoes to carry you from meetings, to lunch, to tasks, and back and forth. Shoes can help you make that transition, and what’s important is that you feel very comfortable in them when you rush from one cubicle to another just to beat deadlines.

However, there are office places that vary from one industry to another. It all depends on the orientation and nature of your work, and the type of dress code you follow. You have to exude your professionalism as you also represent your firm or company. So what types of shoes should you be wearing to the office or even to your job interview? Endless Wardrobe dishes out this information, and you can also learn about what not to wear to the office or job interview as a plus.

If your workplace is a conservative company, you should keep your choices simple and classic. One top choice is the kitten heels. And if you think this style is very outdated, some fashion figures and diplomats (might we add, who are high class women) can put these darling, sensible shoes to work. You can see the ever fashionable Michelle Obama and the gorgeous Carla Bruni wear kitten heels, making this a smart choice for conservative meetings. If you want to make a good impression such as client appointments and job interviews, this is your best bet.

Kitten Heels

Kitten heels have just the right height and are quite the smart shoes you can wear when you are expecting a day of running around. What is great about kitten heels is that they are ultra-wearable and do not hurt your feet. With the right size, you can wear them in a comfortable height by starting and ending a work day in them. You can wear kitten heels in classic shades, and that would be suitable for your wardrobe staples when you are working for work.

Classic Block Heel Pump

If there is an ideal work shoe for you, the classic block heel pump should be it. You can have good balance in these shoes, not to mention, if you choose black, it can definitely go with almost everything. You won’t risk looking smart in a suit with this shoe style. It is very wearable, from pants, skirts, and work suits if you want to look sharp. You will be able to complete your tasks in the 2 inch limit for this shoe without looking in pain. An interesting embellishment such as a bow or buckle could make it more interesting.

What Not To Work In The Office or Job Interview

Again, your choices depend on the nature of your workplace. Even if you are in a creatives firm, you can still tone down your choice of clothes, and your shoes, by keeping it professional.

Even if you are applying for a fashion company, you can still keep it professional and stylish. The interview is equally important so you may want to avoid wearing heels that are too high, over-embellished shoes, sneakers, or simply shoes that are dirty or have signs of wear and tear.

Well, first off, I wonder how Fall is treating the rest of you? If you are already feeling the chilly wind, you can always carry a scarf around or some beanies to tuck your ears in. It’s always the ears that are the first to freeze. But if you are located in a kinder region, I do envy you. In the meantime, are you one of those fashionistas on a shopping ban? If you are, I wonder how you are keeping up and you deserve some congratulations! This only means that you can expect your savings to grow, instead of your closet and all the things that go with it, and instead be more creative with your fashion choices. If you need some inspiration for your fall wardrobe, I am releasing some Fall ideas in twos here. You might find them already in your wardrobe, and some are already “natural” tones when it comes to accessories.

Another thing about fall is that you do not have to stick to the red-orange palette, but you can add some friendlier pops of colour while you are at it. Combine any of the “burnt” colours such as red-orange, brick or sienna with more cheerful shades and you have yourself some really smart colour options to wear. And I would readily applaud you if you have not spent anything to come up with this colour combination! Are you curious yet with some Fall ideas? Here they are!

Copper and Rust

As you can see, copper is nothing new when it comes to cardigans, raincoats and jackets which are brought out once Fall hits. But from this collage, you can see that there are some statement makers such as the animal print scarf, or the polka dot dress, and even some accessories. Personally, a must have would be the copper-coloured flats, and of course, the handy bags never cease to fail. When it comes to Fall, the knitted wear is sure to top my list. A well-knitted cardigan can do wonders for those quick meets outside and it shouldn’t be that bulky but enough to keep warm. See, that was easy right? Chances are, you already have them in your wardrobe!

Pigeon Blue

As for pigeon blue, this is a very smart colour choice to match with greys, whites, and of course, even rust and copper! If you want to inject a little summer vibe right smack in the middle of Fall, you can do so by pairing pigeon blue with gold and yellow. It is as cheerful as you can go in terms of accessories. A simple gold chain or yellow stacked bangles will do.

I am sharing some favourite nail polish tones with you so that you can get ahead with those Fall ideas. That’s it for now and have a great Fall!

The Bohemian bride doesn’t go for the restricting bustier or the heavy and voluminous ball gown. Rhinestone tiaras and updos are too formal for her. She wants only things that will let her move freely and allow her natural beauty to shine through as she walks down the aisle. But this doesn’t mean that all harmony and style should be forgotten as she gets ready for her big day.

If you’re a Bohemian bride, here are some ideas you can infuse into your wardrobe. These will make your ensemble look coordinated but still reflect your carefree nature.

Dress

Everyone who sees your dress should be reminded of nature and freedom – flowers, flowing rivers, butterflies and even the air. Choosing the right fabric, silhouette and embellishments will easily do the trick.

The empire waistline is the silhouette you should think of to start with. You can have any kind of neckline and sleeves you want – strapless, thin straps, very short puffed sleeves, butterfly sleeves or long bell sleeves. You also have a variety of necklines to consider, from boat neck to sweetheart.

Layering and draping of soft, flowing fabrics like organza and silk chiffon from under the breast to the hem of the skirt will give you that ethereal look. You can have a dress as white as a fairy’s. Or you can select a fabric in ivory or very pale beige to give a mysterious appeal.

Flowers, or at least a hint of them, have to be on your dress. You can have them all throughout your outfit with an overlay of delicate lace or just a sprinkling of flower appliqués on one side of the bodice or the skirt.

Hair Style

To match your flowing gown, wear your hair down with loose curls. But if you want an updo or half-updo, braids twisted like a crown would be excellent. Just make sure the styling isn’t done too tight, but more of a windswept look.

Instead of covering your head and face with a veil, wear a headband made of beaded cloth or lace with flower or vine designs. You can also go natural with a fresh wreath of roses or baby’s breath sprigs.

Bouquet

Arm sheaf, nosegay and cascade are your best floral arrangement options for your bouquet. Ask your florist to make them look loosely tied, however. Don’t bother with a neatly bundled posy.

A colourful mix of daisies and other wild blooms would be great. But you can also have different flowers of related colours like peach, salmon, orange, etc.

Other details

The details are the elements that punctuate every fashion statement, especially in a Bohemian bridal trousseau. With your cool charm, you’ll surely pull off a fashion surprise with your shoes or jewellery.

Some brides even go to the extent of choosing wedding and an engagement ring that symbolise their carefree personality. Figural rings like those shaped like vines or flowers are among their favourites.

Lastly, your shoes are a great way to add quirkiness to your ensemble. You can wear anything as long as you can pull it off. Imagine brown boots or bare feet peeping out of your gown’s hem as you radiantly walk down the aisle.

Happy Easter to all Endless Wardrobe fans and readers!

Easter comes in good timing, and this gives us a lot of time to prepare for the coming winter in a few months. You know that winter in Australia is approaching when shops are already shoving the sweaters and jumpers in their displays and home pages online. And of course, one has a tendency to pick the cutest sweaters and jumpers, and cardigans to help keep warm come winter. But back to Easter, I see more and more of these cutesy bunny ears making statements both on runways and magazines, and what does that say about our fashion choices? (I would really like for you to answer this question in the comments below.)

In the meantime, anything reminiscent of Peter Rabbit or the Easter Bunny has captivated our attention and it has almost every one else swooning and admiring furry animals and cutesy rabbit details. So, here is a little compilation of the cutest picks that has all sorts of bunnies in them!

What is great about these sweaters is that they look very festive and you do not need to confine them in just a single occasion. Unlike yesterday’s sweaters and jumpers of the traditional green and red that come complete with all the Christmas balls and garlands, you can wear these bunny sweaters no matter at what age you are and still emit an aura of sweetness and innocence. That’s the plus when it comes to comfort dressing, it’s got playfulness to a T.

There is another bunny trend however, that is a cross between being one of the Playboy bunnies to high fashion. And when it comes to trends like these, again, you have to be the judge if it is too suggestive or just a passing trend.

Well the headband itself is an attention grabber. But if you wear it with dresses like these, you get a cross between a black rabbit that jumped into the hole (also half screaming, “I’m late! I’m late!”) and Alice who just happened to be lost in wonderland. But this option is quite fashionable. But if you ask me, I think this is best reserved for Halloween. Although most Aussies do not celebrate Halloween. Not yet, at least.

Have you gone egg hunting with the kids yet? If you haven’t make for a quick modern day egg hunt and find the nearest store to have that quick fix of chocolate eggs! After all, Easter arrives just once every year now, doesn’t it? Have fun!

With summer creeping up on us, it is finally time to pack up our winter coats and don our summer dresses; I couldn’t be more excited. As a massive fan of the humble summer dress, this is my favourite time of year and not just because of the sun. It is the season when we can really experiments not only with our clothing but our accessories too. Winter sees us all bundled up in coats and scarves, sometimes we can even forget what we are wearing underneath; but when the summer sun begins to shine we can finally get the freedom to accentuate our feelings through our clothing!

With this in mind, here are my favourite looks for summer 2013 and why I love them!

The Bold

The 60′s appear to have hit us with a bang this season and I for one, can’t wait. I love the classic cut’s of vintage Esq. clothing and then throwing in a bold pattern – nothing could be better! Chequered patterns have been seen all over the catwalks of Paris and London, so they were an obvious pick for a post looking at bold prints. By far, the standout show had to be Louis Vuittons yellow chequered, escalator packed runway; models in brown and white chequered amongst a back drop of yellow – it was a psychedelic wonderment. This trend is now starting to filter through the high street making this style accessible for all. my favourite piece has got to be this jacket from Topshop. It may not be quite as blocked out as the designer versions, but perfect for a more subtle touch!

The Bright

Neon has suddenly landed and I don’t just mean hints of the bright colours; I mean entire outfits in yellows, oranges and greens. They have started to adorned the store windows and definitely give the streets a brighter, fun atmosphere. Neon has been a trend for many years now, mainly in accessory form, but has never managed to breakthrough as much as it seemingly has this year. Now this is a tricky trend to wear as you definitely need to have the right skin tone for the colours, but there are alternatives that will work for any tone; mixing fabrics such as lace and chiffon together will help to lessen the blow of the colour on those of us with paler skin. This example by Preen is simply stunning; the clever mixing of lace and pattern work gives the colour some depth and helps to break up the all over neon look!

The Beautiful

There is one trend that keeps coming back for more, season on season, the floral. This has to be the most versatile of all trends this summer as it really has no boundaries; big printed floral silk all the way through to ditsy floral maxi dresses = heaven. This year, the floral pattern has undergone a remake and come back in 3D; yes you read that right, flower patterns are now 3 dimensional. Seen on the catwalks of almost every designer house, Dolce and Gabbana, Moschino and Gucci, 3D floral’s have really burst open. Whether you want a toned down version, created from hand embroidered sequins, or an in your face bamboozle of crepe fabric flowers; you really be bringing the outside, inside. Oh and don’t forget that our bags will also be adorned with flowers this year so get saving for that perfect accessory for summer!
